def: Crowdsourcing is the act of outsourcing tasks, traditionally performed by an employee or contractor, to a large group of people or community (a crowd), through an open call.

In layman terms, it’s a group of people all working toward or supporting a common goal by providing goods or services that help that goal be achieved.

In this case, the role I am crowd-sourcing is that of Executive Producer, essentially, the source of all funding.

I believe in the “teach a man to fish” proverb. I’m not asking for financial support so I can just relax and take it easy, I’m asking for the support so I can then get what I need to be able to provide for myself as a working musician. Think of it as “start up capital”. The only capital I have at the moment is a capital “D” for debt.

It’s a vicious cycle. To make money I need to be performing or selling recorded material. To do either I need a studio so I can record backing tracks or my own music. To rebuild the studio, I need equipment and to repair equipment I already have. The repair the equipment I need money, and as you guessed, to get money I need to be performing or selling.

The only way I see it happening at the moment is that I either get some form of funding or sponsorship/endorsement. That is what this site is all about. I don’t really know what to expect from all this, but I figure why not?

If you would like to become one of my Exectuive Producers, then please feel free to visit the Sponsorship page. Even if it is a dollar, it will all add up to helping me realise a dream I have gotten close to achieving in the past, and will do everything in my power this time to make happen for real.
